The International Labour Organization (ILO) has been involved in promoting and assisting entrepreneurs to access productive work for over two decades. The Month of the Woman Entrepreneur in Africa (MOWEA), part of the Women's Entrepreneurship Development and Gender Equality (WEDGE) programme, is part of this cause.

WEDGE SA MOWE 2009: As part of MOWE in August 2009, the ILO trained 44 Women Entrepreneurs in a new tool called “HOW TO GROW MY BUSINESS” and funded a table at the Business Womens Associations, Business women of the Year event held on the 6thAugust 2009.
