Empresa Junior of ISCTEM (EJI) is a university–based student organization that focuses on building entrepreneurial leadership capabilities in Mozambican students and youth. EJI is organizing the Month of Women Entrepreneur in Africa activities in Mozambique for the second year in a row. As a repeat of the inaugural 2009 activities, MOWEA 2010 in Mozambique will take place during the month of November and will be in harmonization with the Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The 2010 MOWEA activities will be focused on implementing an entrepreneurship awareness campaign programme called Dreamstar. The campaign will focus on the provinces of Maputo, Sofala and Nampula. It will be launched in Maputo at the ISCTEM campus, and will include a series of awareness building and engagement activities during the month that are expected to maximize outreach and impact.
EJI successfully organized the first MOWEA 2009 activities in Mozambique. The activities attracted more than 300 participants in covering Maputo and Sofala provinces. EJI anticipates that the 2010 MOWEA will build on last years success both in terms of the releationships and awareness that was built, and also the lessons that were learned.
For the realization of the 2010 MOWEA activities in Mozambique a steering committee will be created. Members of the steering committee will include representatives of: EJI team, Government, Private Sector and community. After establishment of the steering committee EJI is planning to start up the ground work and mobilize all of its resources for the November launch.
